General information on course

Hydrogen Sulfide (H²S) is an extremely dangerous chemical. It is found in many workplaces in both identified and unidentified environments. Because of the extreme risk to life this chemical presents, this training course has been developed to aid employers and workers in identifying and more importantly, dealing with the hazards associated with Hydrogen Sulphide (H²S). This course provides an overview of how to work safely with H²S. Topics covered are H²S formation chemistry and physical properties, personal protective equipment, precautions to take when working with H²S and effective rescue and first aid techniques where/when required. Participants must complete and pass this course to receive their record of training (ROT).

Duration:

Can be a half-day depending on the size of the group and participant interaction.

Who Should Attend:

Employers and individuals who work in environments where H²S may be expected to be present.

**Note** Participants interested in attending this safety training program are required to show proof of fit-testing for respirators. If interested participants are not respirator fit-testing proficient, proficiency training can be completed as part of this program at an additional cost.

By means of group discussion, case studies and one-on-one instruction, participants will gain the ability to apply what they learn in this course.
